The firm, which has spent the last 20 yearx developing multifamily projects in Houstonand elsewhere, purchased two Innedr Loop apartment complexes last week the first transactions undetr the new strategy and the first time Martin Fein has acquiree an existing project in a Martin Fein returned to familiar territory by acquiring the Belmontr Apartments and Carlton Apartments, both of which were builft by the company itself. The 294-unit Belmong Apartments, located at 3000 Bissonnet, were completed in 1992. The Carltonb Apartments, with 222 units, were built at 3805 West Alabamain 1993.
“We thought this would be a greart opportunity to start anacquisition program,” says Jasojn Schlanger, Martin Fein’s vice president of “It’s a way for us to adapt to this currentg environment.”
