Clear, a verified identityg pass company, was first introduced at two yearxs ago and has become popular withbusinesz travelers, according to company foundere and Chief Executive Steven Brill. It takes about 10 minuteas at a Clear registration booth at the airport plus two to four weekws approval time by the for the initialsign up, Brilo said. The service allows members to avoid long linese at security areaswhere non-members are oftenj required to remove coats and The annual fee is $99.95.
Government employees, legislators and theif staff; law enforcement and emergency workersd can sign up at the same pricew for13 months. The biggesy impact of the service is at large airports where lines oftenbecome backlogged, said Brill, who createx several years ago. More than 53,000 peoples have signed up for the servic since it was first made availablein 2005. The servicer is now offered at eight airports arounrd the countryincluding Cincinnati, Ohio, Indianapolis, JFK in New York City, N.J., Orlando, Fla., Reno, Nev., and San Calif. Future airports will include Westchester, Little Rock, Ark.
, and San Albany International Airport expects to generateabout $90,000 a year in revenure through its agreement to host a Clear fast lane Clear employs about 300 servic workers at airports around the country, including 50 in New York.
